Hi, my plan is to add only the most important sources if possible. Therefore, can you tell me what makes the mentioned ones special or important?

Hi, my plan is to add only the most important sources. To make the selection easier, it would be helpful if you could explain to me what makes the sources you mentioned particularly relevant or significant. With this information I can then make an informed decision as to which should be shortlisted.

Anilist is Myanimelist's rival, and has more and more users. Every year more users migrate from Myanimelist to Anilist because the site is more modern, faster, more intuitive and with more and better information. Simkl is Trakt's rival and both have their strengths. One uses data from TMDB and the other from various databases, but above all from TheTVDB.

That way people could choose between Myanimelist and Anilist or even have both. And Simkl would also be another choice for those who use it. And while you're at it, add Trakt.

I think these 3 sites are essential. Of all the ones you've added, the only ones I think are relevant are Myanimelist (but I prefer Anilist) and TMDB, the others I don't use and don't like, but I respect those who like and use them.

Thank you for your suggestion and explanations. However, to also have rival platforms or personal preferences do not constitute a reason for new sources to me.

My selection so far is based on size, popularity, variety of platforms, interesting community and that they help _me_ with a movie selection. So Douban covers the largest Asian community, MyAnimeList covers the anime sector, TMDb often matches my own ratings, while Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes bundle various reviews from several sources and are also among the largest platforms. However, I may take one of them out again in the future, as they are too similar in concept for me. Instead, I would like to have another region like the South American market, for example.

The goal is not to provide as many sources as possible, because every new source means work, and APIs are often missing. In addition, each source requires continuous testing, which means that I always have to display and check them. For this reason, it is not possible for me to include all available platforms to maintain quality and reliability. I hope that this explanation is comprehensible.

I am sorry that I am currently unable to fulfill your request. But I'm sure there are scripts here that support the sources you want.

I understand, but it's a shame, because the script is very good and with these additions it would be spectacular. I know it's a lot of work, but once it's done you only have to maintain it if there are any changes to the site, and that happens very rarely. And all three have APIs so I think it's even simpler. I hope you'll reconsider. And thanks again for the excellent work you've been doing.

I've thought about it again. Maybe there's a misunderstanding on my part. If you like using the platforms mentioned so much, what use are the ratings on IMDb? Wouldn't it make more sense to look for a script that adds ratings to the platforms you prefer?

I took a look at the APIs of the platforms. The one from SIMKL is nice because it also supports different IDs. But the ratings were very similar to IMDb in my tests. Probably because the community is primarily in the US market. In addition, the number of votes in the cases I tested is mostly even lower than with TMDB.

Therefore, I still can't see any added value in having the SIMKL ratings in IMDb.

Thank you for your input.
