Review: Good - script works

Hi, I've tested your script with Basilisk (note: could you add support to Waterfox Classic? I've been using it with CleanFlash and so far, it's a blast).
I've tried a few games, but there seems to be a bug with one of them, Love by Contrebasse_.
At one point, the game asks the player to press SPACE, but when I do that, nothing happens.
Am I missing anything?
Thanks a lot!

Hello,

Pressing space is supposed to start the game. I did not encounter any bug with Love in Basilisk (neither in anything else), but I do not have the latest version. Which version are you using? What is your OS?
Also, the first question I should have asked is... have you tried clicking outside of the game area, then inside (sometimes, right-clicking inside the game will prevent keyboard input, so you have to do this to fix the issue).
Which version of Flash are you using? Unless it also happens in SuperNova? I did not get any problem with SuperNova either.

Any problem with any other game?

As for WaterFox Classic, I assume you encountered issues since you asked to add support for this browser. Which kind of bugs occurred? I am asking this in case I could fix them without installing it (but I will do so if I have to, no worries). I may need a screenshot of your web console (open the menu, and select something like console or developper tools-->console; or right-click, click "inspect element" and select the console tab).

Well, I just tested Waterfox Classic 2022.02 (which is elsewhere called Waterfox Classic 56.6... so take the version number you want :p) and everything works fine with both Flash and SuperNova. I have not tried CleanFlash... since installing it would apparently uninstall Adobe Flash Player from my computer, but there should not be any problem with it either. Also, I did not encounter any bug with Love in WaterFox Classic.
So, adding support for this browser is apparently... already done. Unless you are experiencing issues with another version?

I've been using a portable Basilisk 2020.11.25 with a hacked Flash Player 32.0.0.363 (I think it's the package that went around in forums after the Flash demise, you might have that one too) on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.
The clicking trick didn't work for me, sorry.
The game works fine with Supernova (tested on Chrome 99 with Windows 11).

As for Waterfox Classic, well, I'll be damned, it turned out the problem was the browser's compatibility with Greasemonkey all along.
I switched to Violentmonkey, and so far it's perfect (yes, Love too).

Okay, I have the same version of Basilisk, however I am using Flash Player 32.0.0.371 on Windows 8.1. I highly doubt the problem comes from the version of Flash (but, just in case, what is your Kongregate username ?) so it may come from your operating system or from some setting... somewhere... Honestly, I am lost. Even more considering I did not find anyone in Love's comments mentionning this bug. Are you experiencing it, or a similar issue, on another game?

Now that everything was sorted regarding Waterfox Classic, I guess I can add it to the list of compatible browsers. Thank you!

Hi there, you won't believe this, but I rebooted the old setup with Basilisk 2020.11.25 and Flash 32.0.0.363 just for the sake of it, and Love now works as intended. Somewhere along the way, an update to the script must have done the trick.
Congratulations, keep up the good work!

Flash or CleanFlash? Only CleanFlash had a problem with the game, I think.
If you are indeed still using CleanFlash, then I am happily surprised. I do not know exactly what could have fixed that, but I am glad to know that my small bug fixes are useful to someone! Haha.

Problems with keyboard controls in Basilisk are generally caused by Flash Player not obeying Basilisk's Protected Mode setting. In that case, it can be set in Flash Player's mms.cfg file instead. The Basilisk Portable With Flash Player page has instructions.
