You have a valid complaint. I'm in the process of converting the code from jQuery to vanilla JavaScript. It should be faster without a weighty abstraction layer like jQuery. No ETA, but the work is rapidly progressing.

Annoyingly slow. Banner is obtrusive. I had to uninstall.
