This lightweight userscript adds a "Show/Hide Comments" toggle button specifically for YouTube. Unlike global comment blockers, this script remembers your preference per channel, allowing you to curate your experience.

  • Per-Channel Persistence: Hidden channels stay hidden; visible ones stay visible. Even after refreshing.
  • CSS-Based Stability: Uses high-priority CSS rules to ensure the comment section doesn't "flicker" or reappear during page navigation.
  • Minimalist UI: The toggle button blends seamlessly into the YouTube interface (right next to the Subscribe button).
  • Privacy First: No external tracking. Your blacklist is stored locally in your browser.

🛠️ How to Use

  1. Install the script.
  2. Open any YouTube video.
  3. Look for the "🔇 Hide Comments" button near the channel name.
  4. Click it to instantly hide the comment section for that specific creator.
  5. Want to see them again? Just click "📢 Show Comments".

📝 Technical Note

This script uses GM_getValue and GM_setValue for storage. It is optimized for the YouTube Single Page Application (SPA) architecture, ensuring the button correctly updates even when navigating between videos.
