Description:

The YouTube Title Cleaner userscript removes the notification counter at the beginning of YouTube tab titles (e.g., (7)) and strips the default " - YouTube" suffix. It works automatically on all YouTube pages and keeps the title clean even during navigation.

Features:

  • Removes notification count prefix: (1), (7), etc.
  • Removes YouTube’s default title suffix: - YouTube
  • Keeps only the actual video or page title
  • Supports dynamic page changes (YouTube SPA navigation)
  • Lightweight — no performance impact
  • Works automatically without settings or configuration

Instructions:

Step 1: Install a Userscript Manager

Install a userscript manager such as Violentmonkey or Tampermonkey in your browser.

Step 2: Add the Script

Copy the YouTube Title Cleaner userscript code and create a new script in your userscript manager.

Step 3: Save and Enable the Script

Save the script and ensure it is enabled in your userscript manager.

Step 4: Use YouTube Normally

The tab title will automatically stay clean — no notification numbers, no "YouTube" suffix.

Notes:

  • Works on all YouTube pages, including video, channel, search, and homepage.
  • Automatically updates when YouTube changes the title dynamically.
  • If changes don’t appear, refresh the page.
