Welcome to Twitter Prime!

This script blocks ads (previous known as "promoted tweets") at the network level, before they ever have a chance to be shown in the page.
Because it doesn't attempt to find ads or marketing upsells by making sense of Twitter's page markup, it is likely to be more resilient than other ad-removing strategies.

It also blocks client-side analytics and user tracking.
That includes:

  • Google analytics
  • Twitter's internal analytics
  • analytics through Twitter's t.co/ redirects, which are replaced with the actual URL.

Be warned, some internal analytics calls may still fire from Twitter's service worker, which bypasses this script.
It is recommended to use a reputable ad blocker like uBlock Origin to catch those.
