I got the same thing. A workaround this issue is to block the placeholder (the small window) with adblock "youtube.com###placeholder-player".

I also have a small bug when clicking the "theater mode/default view" button (lower right corner next to fullscreen). It moves the big screen to the right.

• #placeholder-player is fixed with v58.
• The HTML5 seekbar is fixed (again) with v59.
• Theater mode offset is fixed with v60.

Hopefully that's all the bugs from the last youtube update.
