Subtitle Shield

Subtitle Shield is a caption helper for language learners on YouTube and Bilibili. It adds a small, reversible layer of friction to captions so you can listen first and reveal text only when you need it.

Features

  • Supports YouTube and Bilibili.
  • Global enable/disable plus per-site toggles.
  • Caption modes: blur, flip with blur, hide, pause-only, and delayed reveal.
  • Configurable blur strength, delay time, and Bilibili caption position offset.
  • Hold a shortcut key to temporarily reveal captions.
  • Optional hover-to-reveal behavior.
  • In-page settings panel with drag, close, and minimize-to-floating-ball support.
  • Chinese and English UI.

Usage

After installing the script, open a YouTube or Bilibili video page and choose "Open settings panel" from your userscript manager menu. The panel lets you adjust caption mode, shortcut behavior, site toggles, and position offset.
