💖 What it does

When a previously saved draft is finally posted, AO3 uses the draft's initial creation date - which could be a month old - as the work's publication date. That's probably not what you wanted; you probably wanted the date when you hit the "Post" button.

This script adds a warning under the "Post" button. It also lets you set the Publication Date to today's date at the click of a button.

🪴 How to use it

  1. Save a draft for a new work.
  2. A few days later, edit the draft.
  3. Scroll to the bottom, where the "Post" button is. You'll see a warning that "This draft is using an old publication date."
  4. Click the "update it to today's date" button.
  5. The script enables the "Set a different publication date" option and selects your current date automatically.
