Not sure why that is, I can't reproduce the problem. On my browser it just prevents the hover popup altogether.

I found out why. I used the Imagus extension.
This script only disables playback and does not provide gif preview, right?
It doesn't seem to take effect, hovering the mouse over the video, only the picture pops up.
