OK for whatever reason had to quit and relaunch and now the button is there! My bad for that. This is exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much for writing it!
I love the idea, but as near as I can tell, the script isn't enabling in Firefox? I see no activation mechanism by user instances at this point.
In console, I'm seeing this additional error when I enable the script:
The Notification permission may only be requested from inside a short running user-generated event handler.
