Summary

Bring clean, roleplay-style formatting to your Character.AI chats! This script adds a convenient, drag-and-drop button to your screen that automatically formats AI messages with a single click. It intelligently wraps narration in italics while leaving dialogue untouched, creating a much more readable and immersive experience.

The button is fully adaptive for both PC and Mobile, and you can place it anywhere on the screen—it will remember its position for your next chat!

Features

  • Draggable & Persistent Button: Click and hold the ✏️ button to drag it anywhere you like. The script automatically saves its position, so it will always be right where you left it.
  • Adaptive for PC & Mobile: A single, intelligent script that provides the perfect button size and default position whether you're on a desktop or a mobile phone.
  • One-Click Formatting: Simply click the button to instantly clean up the last AI message. The script fully automates the More options -> Edit -> Save process in a fraction of a second.
  • Smart Narration Formatting: Automatically wraps all narration (text outside of quotes) in asterisks for italics (*like this*), ensuring a clean, readable, roleplay style.
  • Preserves Dialogue: Intelligently ignores text within quotation marks ("...") and backticks (...), leaving spoken lines completely untouched.
  • Keyboard-Aware (Mobile): The button automatically hides when you start typing a message and reappears when you're done, so your on-screen keyboard never covers it.
  • Enhanced Visual Feedback: The button provides clear visual cues when being dragged and is safely constrained within the screen boundaries.

How to Use

  1. After the AI generates a message, a blue floating button with a pencil icon (✏️) will appear on your screen.
  2. To Format: Click the button once. The script will instantly format the last message.
  3. To Move: Click and hold the button to drag it to your preferred spot. It will remember this position for your next session.
  4. Enjoy your perfectly formatted messages on Character.AI!
