Why @updateURL doesn't work?

Who the fuck thinks it is a good idea?
i see no problem at all.
i have all my scripts on my github account, and enabled the synchronization option.
now i have a place where people can find my scripts (GreasyFork), and version control (GitHub).
there is no use for @updateURL anymore...

Why GF deletes @updateURL line? And when it will be fixed?
