Any reason why you don't want this option set how it is?
It slows down the buffering of videos when DASH is not enabled in the script.
That's true. But in my opinion it does defeat the purpose of using Invidious if you don't use the proxy option (the only way to completely bypass Google servers).
I don't care if I contact Google's video servers.
Oh okay, why do you want to use Invidious?
It has a cleaner interface and doesn't have ads. I will be more willing to use DASH if its buffering issue was fixed.

Why is the local variable in an embed set to true?

There should be an option added to be able to add/remove it (like there is for DASH playback, etc).
