So ever since youtubes most recent redesign (last few days as of 8/23/17) the ads will auto close/skip but the mute function isn't kicking in. I've looked through the script and compared to the new site html and it doesn't look like any variables or objects have changed so with my limited coding experience I wasn't able to deduce what the hangup is.
EDIT: well now the actual skip ad feature isn't working either hah
