# YouTube Embed Overlay

This userscript transforms YouTube video links into an embedded overlay player that opens directly on the same page.

Instead of navigating away, the video appears in a centered iframe with a dark transparent background, preserving the original site underneath.

It supports various YouTube link formats and converts them to privacy-friendly youtube-nocookie.com embeds.

The overlay can be dismissed by clicking outside the video or pressing Escape, with an optional close button for convenience.

Designed for mobile and desktop, it maintains proper 16:9 aspect ratio and avoids autoplay issues.
