Hi Barbieri, I agree that that space is awkward. It is for scrolling through the wikitube_container. A little extra space makes scrolling much easier for devices that don't have precise mouse control (e.g. laptop) If you want a Wikipedia with a better layout, I recommend you to try out this custom CSS [https://userstyles.org/styles/166052/wikipedia-minima] I made. Or you can DIY yours based on various custom CSS available online.
Let me know if you have other concern.
