Userscript breaks mentions.

Have a look: https://i.imgur.com/rISPxyk.png

So I have these userscripts (notice that some of them are disabled):

And I also have these extensions (enabled):

Something might be conflicting (perhaps with other userscripts of yours?!), but I'm not 100% sure. 🤔

No.. just @mention is not implemented yet.

I will add it back later I guess.

(I am not familiar with this feature btw)

I just want to ask, so even no "@" will still make the highlight? no just "@Snow" ?

Yes, it looks like as long as your username is typed into the chat, even without '@', you are highlighted in the chat.

Look: https://diffchecker.com/b4GxnRy9/

It should be easy—I mean, we get the 'mention' class when you are mentioned. 🤔

The mention is not "provided" by the server response. It is done by the front end part.

YouTube just replace all "your name" to 'mention' class. ( case sensitive right? just forgot )

You think this is good? Or you only need "@Snow" to be mentioned?

and just your name? not everyone name?

(I was thinking that this could be configurable... )

This can be easy of course, do the same like YouTube to replace Snow and @Snow with mention class.

But this is appropriate?

for example, your name "Snow" is like a common word in English, so other might not really mention you, they are just typing in English. So Snow will become "mentioned"

From what I've seen, you get mentioned regardless of how your name is written or whether you add '@' or not.

For example, if your name is 'Fung' on YouTube, you still get mentioned in the native YT chat even if someone writes 'FuNg,' 'fung,' or 'FUNG.'

In my humble opinion, you should stick to this native behavior in your userscript. 🤔

Thanks for your information.

I think it might be not necessary for "snow" and "Snow". You will get mentioned all the time in audience chatting right (as you are the channel owner) ? there will be too many orange color. I don't think fully copying youtube's bad things is good.

Let me think a bit.

I will get you back later.

Beside, I dont think this review is "Bad - script does not work". Good or OK would be much appreciated. Thanks

OK. 👍

The thing is, sometimes people might be too lazy to type your name perfectly in a chat.

I’m not sure if this kind behavior is good or bad, but at least I expect you to let us keep the native behavior for mentions if we want to.

Whether this should be the default setting or not is up to you. 🤔
