Block unwanted sites from your Google, DuckDuckGo, Startpage.com, Bing and Yahoo search results. v2.3.5 2025-03-21
< Feedback on Google Hit Hider by Domain (Search Filter / Block Sites)
It makes sense there's no block button if it was perma-banned, but I wonder why the result isn't hidden. If you right-click > Inspect it, does it have this:
<div class="result css-o7i03b ghhdnone" ghhresult="unset" ghhhost="big-time.en.softonic.com" blockhidden="softonic.com">
In particular, does the result have a blockhidden
attribute and ghhdnone
in the class="" list?
Hi, I try now the same serach with same engine but now is hidden. Yes, as you say it should be indeed as I previously perma-ban that domain.
All good then but, in case I will see same behaviour in future I will follow the procedure as you wrtie me.
Thanks for you're support and work.
Hi Jeff, it happens again now (with Start Page search). Please forgive me but I'm not a developer so I'm not confident with browser dashboard. Anyway, I try the "search" field and put the string you privide in the last post but can't find it. Anyway, I look at error section and I think you maybe can find usefull the last line of 4. I will attach 2 screenshot. First for "errors", Second for "issues" dashboard section. Hope that help.
Maybe the script is having trouble because there are four parts to the domain?? You could use
List Utils > Import
to add en.softonic.com
to the Perma-ban list and see whether that works any better.
(They both work for me at the moment.)
I try now and no luck. At this point I just wait that happens again and then I follow the procedure you suggest and I let you know if it works. Thanks!
Hi Jefferson, I'd like to point out a little "problem" that I noticed right now doing a research. Softonic find a way to bypass the addon block. Indeed I was already perma-ban every domain and subdomain from that site but is still in search result (with Start Page) and further there's no [block] button, but only for that site! Please take a look at screenshot attached.
Thanks for you're work.
