Information

A userscript that makes various unofficial tweaks to LinusTechTips.com, the technology forum run by Linus Media Group (LMG).

May also work on other forums using software by InvisionCommunity (who I am, once again, unaffiliated with), but I have not tried it.

Currently the following is available:

  • Remove GIF profile pictures, for those who prefer less motion, and replace them with a generic "Contacts" icon
  • Display the new "rank" information where the old "Member Titles" used to be, rather than superimposing that rather intrusive new icon.

By default, GIF profile picture removal is off and rank information adjustments are on, as this is what I anticipate most users will want. This can be changed by modifying the CONF object at the top of the script. In a future update I intend to make this more user-friendly by storing the settings in local storage and providing an interface to edit them.

Credits

The icon that replaces GIF profile pictures is from the Bootstrap icon set.

Please note that their names are used purely to describe the site this userscript has been designed to work with - there is no involvement from anyone at Linus Media Group or the Linus Tech Tips forums.
