Scribd Material Downloader (Safe PDF)

The Scribd Material Downloader is a lightweight userscript that allows users to view full Scribd documents, download text as a .txt file, or generate a PDF entirely in the browser—without using external servers. PDF generation uses the jsPDF library loaded from my GitHub.

Features

  • View Full Document – Opens the embedded version of the Scribd document for unrestricted access.
  • Download as TXT – Extracts the text content and saves it locally as a .txt file.
  • Download as PDF – Generates a PDF file directly in your browser using jsPDF from GitHub.

Installation

  1. Install a userscript manager if you haven’t already:
    • Chrome: Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey
    • Firefox: Tampermonkey, Violentmonkey, or Greasemonkey
  2. Go to this script page on GreasyFork.
  3. Click Install this script in your userscript manager.
  4. Confirm the installation.

Usage

  1. Visit any Scribd document page.
  2. Three buttons will appear:
    • View Full – Opens the embedded document.
    • Download (TXT) – Saves the text locally.
    • Download (PDF) – Generates a PDF locally in your browser.
