Pano Date Detective

This script is designed to enhance the functionality of Google Street View by providing users with the exact time a particular street view image was captured. It achieves this by extracting metadata associated with the image and then calculating the exact time based on geographical coordinates and metadata information.

Features:

  1. Time Extraction: The script extracts metadata from the Google Street View image, including the date and time it was captured.

  2. Time Calculation: Using the extracted metadata and geographical coordinates, the script calculates the exact time when the street view image was captured.

  3. User Interface Enhancement: It adds a custom button to the Google Street View interface, allowing users to view the exact capture time of the image with a single click.

  4. Real-time Updates: The script dynamically updates the displayed time even when the webpage URL changes, ensuring accurate time information regardless of the navigation within Google Street View.

How to Use:

  1. Ensure the script is loaded in the webpage where Google Street View is embedded.

  2. Navigate to any location in Google Street View.

  3. Click on the custom "exact time" button added by the script to display the exact capture time of the street view image. If the button does not appear, please refresh the page.

  4. The time information will be dynamically updated, reflecting the precise capture time even when navigating to different locations within Google Street View.

Note: Currently the script could only resolve recent coverage while historical coverage are unable to be captured.
