GeoASCII

Transforms GeoGuessr panoramas into a live, customizable ASCII text art display with retro filters.

This script instantly converts WebGL frames into text art via a native "ASCII Shaders" sidebar button. Use live sliders to adjust resolution, palette depth, brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, and noise. An expandable menu lets you toggle solid blocks (█), edge outlines (*), color inversion, CRT scanlines, thermal heat-maps, and custom hex tinting, backed by instant randomize and reset tools.

Important Notes

  • Developer Mode Required: Enable "Developer Mode" in your browser's extension settings (chrome://extensions) for the script to run
  • Check Status: Ensure the script is toggled to "Enabled" in your userscript manager dashboard
  • Performance optimizations:
    • Enable graphics acceleration on chrome at chrome://settings/system
    • Use Balance (Raster) map quality setting on Geoguessr (via in-game options)
    • Use lower resolution & gaussian noise settings
