From MY EXPERIENCE, you must play only 5% risk of your total balance.

So, for your question 1. with the orignals settings from 3.6.9 version of the script you need 163820 satoshi (0.00163820) for playing a risk of 8191 ( 0.00008191 satoshi)

0.00004096 MAX_BET = 0.00000001 + 0.00000002 + 0.00000004 + 0.00000008 + 0.00000016 + 0.00000032 + 0.00000064 + 0.00000128 + 0.00000256 + 0.00000512 + 0.00001024 + 0.00002048 + 0.00004096 = 0.00008191 satoshi of total risk
