It hasn't changed. Could you try temporarily turning off your ad blocker to see if it's related? Somebody had a similar problem a while back because they had an aggressive uBlock filter list that was filtering out stuff like "follow-button".

Where is the follow button? It used to show when hovering over the profile picture on the artists page but it isn't there anymore.
