Download every mods of a collection in a single click
< Nexus Download Collection 피드백
Hi, I have already tried to include a manual download, but I haven't had any success yet. When I attempt to get the manual download link, it returns an invalid link. I might investigate this further later.
It might seem excessive, but you could quickly mount a Windows VM, install Vortex, download all the mods, and then transfer the files from the VM to your computer once done.
Ok so, the problem why I couldn't get the links was from my side. So you can expect manual download soon, maybe tomorrow of in a few hours ;)
Thank, you. The current possible way to download mods to Vortex on linux is throught some paddings. Like 1.Browser 2. App for D-Bus nxm links handling 3.Proton on Steam 4.Vortex.
As you can imagine the performance is very poor. Like with your extension even 10 mods cosecutively without pasusing will casuse magor stutters on average pc.
So manual download will release some bounds on our hands on amount of ways to use Vortex on Linux.
Oh and would it be possible to create a .txt file with all the links of current collection. I have download manager that can bunch download files if I have links. So it could be a great replacement for vortex or browser download. As browser download can just suddenly stop and not return to the point where download broke, and there you go download your 3 gigabite mod over again.
Sure, I could export a text file, but the links expire. They have a lifespan of about 4 hours. It would be alright with a small collection, but when dealing with a large collection of over 700 mods, I must pause for 5 minutes after every 200 download links are fetched to avoid a temporary ban. So, with 700 mods, you're already looking at a loss of 15 minutes, and you also need to consider the time it takes to fetch the links. This can be quite fast, but it still adds up.
So, by the time you reach the end of the process, the links would have already lost some of their lifespan.
Let's say you set your download manager to download a maximum of 10 files at a time and with the 1.5 MB/s download speed restriction, many links will have expired when you start downloading them.
So, yes, I could, but in practice, people will face issues.
I'm currently waiting for one link to expires to see what happen when we try to use the link. Maybe Nexus allow the download but I dont have hope.
If it work then I will make your request
Just publish an update with your first request, make sure to update to 0.8.3 ;)
Still waiting for the other one, I'll keep you informed of my test.
Thanks for work, even thought it is night. The update is cool. No lags at all, when downloading. This will help a lot to linux users. But download notifications are covering pause button:)
About expiring and etc.
You seem to alredy implemented index and skip to index. May be that will be of help homehow.
But yes, if the expire then there is not much left to do.
The browser download seems to load even faster then vortex as it is not limited to maximum of one download at a time.
So even when one side is covered by unstopable notifications other will still be usable.
Thank you, but to be honest, a design with a mirrored feature seems a bit odd to me 😅
I think this might be more of a browser issue. Usually, if you open your browser's download page (for me, it's brave://downloads/), this problem won't persist.
Perhaps adjusting some settings in your browser could also help, but I'm not entirely sure.
For instance, I didn't encounter any issues with Firefox on a 14-inch screen. As I mentioned earlier, if you click on "Show all downloads," it will open Firefox's download page, and you won't have the menu overlapping the Nexus page.
Hey, I use Vortex on Linux and it is quite a problem to get nxm links from browser to Vortex.
Can you please add button to download all mods manually in browser instead of sending them to Vortex.
