Copy as Markdown - Tampermonkey Script

Why You Need This Script:

When writing articles or doing research, we often need to quote titles and URLs from webpages. Manually copying and formatting this information into Markdown links can be tedious. This script simplifies the process, allowing you to quickly and easily copy the current page's title and URL in Markdown format.

Key Features:

  • Cross-Platform Compatibility: The script works on macOS, Windows, and Linux, ensuring smooth operation for all users.
  • Dual Trigger Options: The script supports both a keyboard shortcut and a button:
    • Shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + Y (Windows/Linux) or Command + Shift + Y (macOS). Feel free to customize the shortcut if preferred.
    • Button: A “Copy as Markdown” button at the bottom left of the page. Click this button to perform the copy action.
  • Automatic Notification: After copying, a notification will appear at the bottom left of the page, automatically disappearing after 2 seconds, so you know the action was successful. You can customize the notification style and display if needed.

How to Use:

  1. Install the Script: Add the script to your Tampermonkey extension and enable it.
  2. Use the Shortcut: Press Ctrl + Shift + Y (Windows/Linux) or Command + Shift + Y (macOS) to quickly copy the current page's title and URL in Markdown format.
  3. Use the Button: Click the “Copy as Markdown” button at the bottom left of the page to perform the same action.

Customization Tips: You can adjust the shortcut or the button's display style to better suit your preferences.
