New feature: on-site notifications

§
Posté le: 2024-09-11

There is now a concept of on-site notifications in addition to email notifications. This should be helpful to users who don't want to or can't receive Greasy Fork's emails (e.g. due to spam filters). If you have notifications, they will appear in the top right beside your user name as a number in a blue circle. Once you visit the thing that caused the notification, it will be marked as read and no longer display in the header.

Currently this only supports notifications based on conversations (direct messages). It will soon support most/all other notifications that you previously could only get by email. This change is not retroactive, so you will not see notifications for things that occurred before right now.

You can view your notifications and notification settings by following the links on your user page.

Let me know if you see any bugs or have suggestions.

Notifications for forums are now supported. That should be the end of the changes here for now.

i think i noticed this and was wondering where it came from, nice feature

When there are new comments in a discussion or script that I am participating in, why does it take about 10 minutes for a prompt to appear next to the user name?

Comments can be edited for 5 minutes after posting; the notification only goes out when that period is over.
