this might be an bit of an tough request, but, the issue does kinda render the script ineffective until it's countered.
-- would it be possible to make it so that when the quality is set to 1080p, it remains at 1080p while set at it?

the issue is with the player, or potentially the servers, the issue being, that the quality keeps being forced down, as if it were set to auto, despite being set to 1080p.
-- if it helps, i'll try and describe it this way.......... while set to 1080p, despite being set to that, the displayed video repeatedly goes down to 720p and below, without having altered what the quality is set to.

the simplest way to check if it has gone down in quality ( aside from the more blurry visuals ), is to swap it to auto, and then reopen the quality settings to see what is listed next to the auto option.
-- more often than not, it ends up being 360p.

so we've been having to keep fighting against the player, throughout every episode we watch, just to keep the quality at what we set it to.
-- hence the request, for an fix to render the player fully functional. ( there's also an audio bug with the player / servers that makes it sound like it's underwater, likely due to the bitrate of either the audio / video / or both, although i'm not even sure if that's fixable with userscripts. ).

i wasnt able to personally replicate that so i dont know if this will work for you, but i added a small piece of code that should (hopefully) fix that issue.

Update the script and lmk if it works.

after an few days of thorough testing, i can confirm that you fixed the player quality bug.

i'll be sure to recommend these userscripts as fixes for the site's issues / bugs, aswell as overall improvements.
-- i should note, that as far as the ( better hianime ) one goes, i did slightly adjust it so it'd work on all the hianime domains, by adding ( https://www.hianime.* ), ( http://www.hianime.* ), ( https://hianime.* ), and ( http://hianime.* ) to the user matches list.

reason for that being, the backup domains ( .nz ), ( .sx ) and ( .mn ), aswell as any future backups that could be added.

i totally forgot that the site had other domains too cause i only use ".to". i'll update the script shortly, thank you for pointing it out.
