Automcatically switches to your pre-selected resolution. Enables premium when possible.
Thanks for the report. I will try to fix this as soon as I can. Use the old version in the mean time. It defaulting to auto likely means the script is failing to set quality somehow.
The issue should be fixed. However, Script Runner Pro does not support custom menus so you will have to either find the saved value in the extension or be content with the default setting (4k Premium). I would still HIGHLY suggest you switching to another script loader if possible as Script Runner Pro pretty outdated and may break again in the future.
Slightly more technical explanation:
The issue was caused by the fact the Script Runner Pro has not been updated for more than 4 years and is starting to get increasingly incompatible with Grease Monkey, among other things. This was fixed by added a function to detect what features the script loader has then falling back to older standards if newer features are missing.
Sounds good, thanks for the quick response and fix. Is there any particular script loader you recommend? (Updated Back to Good)
Violentmonkey works nicely right now and is what I use regularly but may break when Chrome switches to the Manifest V3 standard in the near future.
Tampermonkey has already been updated to support Manifest V3 so choose that instead if you have no idea what any of this means or don't feel like switching loaders too often.
I've just checked and as of October 17, 2024, the 2024.10.14 version of the script is not working. I've checked with several videos on YouTube, and the Auto 1080p version is selected over the 4K or 1080p Premium. Interestingly, I went back to version 2024.09.12, and it works fine and the best resolution is chosen again. I'm not sure if this is a bug in the code. For reference, I'm using Script Runner Pro extension, Chrome on MacOS Arm, and everything is updated to the latest version.
