I am using your script with the https://inzk.dev/tweaks-for-youtube extension. When used with the "Fixed Sidebar" option in the extension, it remains in the background as in the screenshot below.

Is there anything that can be done about this problem?

The preview will be left-aligned to the thumbnail now once you update to 1.0.19.
