Let the X team know that you want the old name back!

Why was this userscript made? Right now, most people agree that Elon Musk's decision to rename Twitter to X is disastrous for the platform. For a while, twitter.com was the only way to access the new X, but as of May 2024, the team developed a way to keep both x.com and twitter.com domains working at the same time.

The team at X tracks what version of the site you're visiting. The rationale is that the more people visit twitter.com instead of x.com, the more they'll hold off on getting rid of the twitter.com domain, and this script was made in hope they keep using it as a way for people to access the platform.

What does this userscript do? This userscript automatically changes all instances of "x.com" to "twitter.com" on any webpage you visit without breaking other links or domains (no netflitwitter.com or space-twitter.com this time!). This ensures you are directed to Twitter using the familiar "twitter.com" domain instead of the newer "x.com."

Don't let Twitter's legacy be erased! If twitter.com stops working as a domain entirely, Twitter's old name will cease to exist, prompting more and more media resources to agree to the new paradigm. More and more people would be confused once they enter "twitter.com" in their search+address bar, and end up either on a 404 page or on a completely different platform called "X". Let people have the option to go to Twitter the old way and not use the new name in any fashion!

Thank you for checking out my script!
