Simple ad skipper for youtube immune to ad blocker restriction (This is not ad blocker)

Once an edge user had problem with this script so I edited the script to deal with it for edge but later it was reported that it wasn't the problem with the script. Now is_edge function is of no use.
I'm trying to understand what is_edge is for? Does it do anything in the script?
