When I use browser download my speed gets limited to 1.5mb/s
This does not happen when I use vortex and I have made sure that no adblockers are running and have also checked download pages of nexus showing 3mb/s download instead of 1.5mb/s
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hi, this is kind of tricky; it's all about cookies on nexusmods.com.
When you access a download page, it checks if it can load an ad. If it can't, it sets the cookie "ab=0," and you will get the 1.5 MB/s speed.
This cookie has an expiration date, so if you go to NexusMods, you see the 3 MB/s speed, which is nice. But then, a few minutes later, this cookie expires, and you fall back to the 1.5 MB/s speed.

I have attached an example. I logged the download speed of every mod I downloaded, and you can see that at some point, it falls back to 1.5 MB/s...

Unfortunately, I can't refresh this cookie with this script because Nexus collections are not on the same website as the mods (collections: next.nexusmods.com, mods: nexusmods.com).

Although it is unfortunate, I recommend that if you download through your browser, you disable the delay between downloads to start as many downloads at the same time before the download rate drops. Your browser can handle the load compared to Vortex.

Hi again,

I did some investigation on this topic, and I figured out a way to bypass this restriction.
There is no need to disable your ad blocker on NexusMods anymore, and the download speed will no longer be restricted to 1.5 MB/s but will always be 3 MB/s.
Of course, the download speed can vary depending on NexusMods' server capacity and whether you download multiple files simultaneously. It is 3 MB/s globally, so if you download 2 mods, they will each download at 1.5 MB/s; if you download 3 mods, they will each download at 1 MB/s, and so on.

This bypass is available in the latest version of the script (0.8.14).
