Replace http:// with https:// in the address bar, to make sure you're using the SSL-encrypted version of a page. Only enable for pages that you know are SSL enabled.

HTTPS Everywhere switches the protocol on the fly so you don't even see the original non-secure page, while this script waits for the normal http
page to start loading and then redirects to https
, which results in delays and flicker. However this script can be used with primitive mobile browsers that support userscripts.
I don’t think this is any better. This script gets installed a lot simply because people don’t know HTTPS Everywhere or any similar browser extension.
This is not better than HTTPS Everywhere! HTTPS Everywhere is way better than what this script could attempt to do and I would highly recommend using that instead of this hack of a script.
This script was made in 2006 and HTTPS Everywhere started being developed in 2010: https://github.com/EFForg/https-everywhere/commit/e3aec08d7b5374acd6f7664cfc9f0f739a5f9dec
This script has not seen any development in ages and likely won’t either. Again, as the script author: please use HTTPS Everywhere (or similar) instead!
How is this better from HTTPS Everywhere add-on?
Well, HTTPS Everywhere here: https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere
I'm pretty sure that add-on has been developed way longer and has quite big team, so shouldn't that one updated even way more often? Besides it has options to enable/disable certain rules.
