All image posts in Twitter/X Home, other blog streams and single post views link to the high-res "orig" version. Thumbnail images in the stream are modified to display uncropped.

What happens if you use twitter.com instead of x.com?
Possible background:
Twitter/X is known to utilize A/B Testing - meaning that a part of the user base is served a different site version than other users.
For me, twitter.com works fine, and x.com either redirects to twitter.com or doesn't work (without any scripts and extensions).
I was speaking too soon - x.com has started working for me as of today.
I've adapted the script accordingly (version 4.3) - it should now work for both the domains twitter.com and x.com.
Please let me know if it works for you, as well - and update your review accordingly.
Once I got to X, it stopped working.
