Edge and tampermonkey
I just tried with Edge and Tampermonkey (both through installing it from the Chrome web store and the Edge add-ons store thing) and it works just fine for me so I'm not sure what's going on on your end. Though I did notice that if it's installed from the Chrome web store, developer mode needs to be enabled in the browser extension settings in order for any userscript to work, so maybe it could be that?
In any case if you still can't get it to work, I'd suggest trying another browser
