Are you tired of Google automatically checking the checkbox to "Don't ask again on this computer" ("Trust This Device") when you enter your two-factor authorisation code? Well so was I. So I spent a minute writing this script which makes sure that the checkbox is unchecked by default when you login to your Google account and are prompted for the 2FA code.

Security is really important. GMail/Google accounts are often at the heart of a lot of our chains of security, and people mistakenly let down their guard and don't protect their e-mail access as well as they should. We have important account passwords sent to it, we have confirmations to make critical changes on various services sent to our GMail. That's why securing your e-mail and your Google account in general is so crucial to your whole internet life.

Smart peope achieve this by turning on two-factor authorisation. Even smarter people make sure that no matter what the situation, to have optimal second factor protection, you will have to require entering this code when you log in to Google. Consequentially, trusting any device by checking "Don't ask again on this computer", allowing it to never enter codes again, is a recipe for disaster. It just sets you up for one point of weakness in a potential future breach or targeted attack. One never knows when your system could be compromised, or perhaps you have people in your physical vicinity who can compromise your system.

So, ya, this is a simple userscript to get Google to stop checking "Don't ask again on this computer" by default, which can make you accidentally add a computer to Trusted Devices that you don't really trust.

Thanks to cocacola for being around :D
