Standard disclaimer: I am a crowdsourced employee of CrowdSurf Support, but am not affiliated with their corporate entity or parent company in any official capacity. These scripts do not perform any functions that could conceivably be considered illegal in any jurisdiction, but they are all unlicensed software providing functions and making modifications to the official transcription software without the knowledge or endorsement of CrowdSurf Support. CrowdSurf Support are not responsible for the development or function of these scripts and cannot or will not provide support for them.

Makes your life easier when working CrowdSurf jobs on the CSW platform. This script does the following:

  • Keyboard shortcuts! Alt+Enter to accept a job, Alt+Backspace to Skip or Return a job.
  • Removes the footer. It only contains copyright information and it is in our way as a worker.
  • Move the Accept button to the left of the Skip button. A minor change, but we have all come from Mechanical Turk where the Accept button was always on the left. I have no idea how many times I instinctively clicked Skip because I wanted Accept to be there.
  • Move the task controls to the header. CrowdSurf put a convenient fixed-position header on the page with a ton of blank space in it, the perfect size for all the task controls. This carries the additional benefit of keeping the Return and Auto Accept buttons as well as the job timer in view at all times, instead of simply being lost further up on the page as you scroll down to the job frame.
  • Scroll the page down to the job frame automatically when the page loads. Keeps your hands on the keyboard!

Also helpful:

  • CrowdSurf productivity tools. Track earnings, keyboard shortcuts, eliminate mouse usage...
  • Cielo job frame tinkerer. Disable spellchecker, maintain a list of custom ignored words, ignore all spellcheck suggestions on submit...
  • Job counter. Adds an easy, clickable button to the worker history dashboard to count up the number of jobs completed in that timeframe, because CrowdSurf does not currently provide a way to do this...
