btw this is not supposed to be some bs entitled request, i'm geniunely curious since I haven't seen other GUIs despite stockfish and many other engines being open sourced

Nope, I'm not a chess engine programmer, really don't know much about them.
how difficult/time-consuming would it be to update/impliment a newer version of stockfish as an option
There are already some repositories that contain newer Stockfish versions for web (WASM), I just haven't implemented those.
Adjusting the engine itself and making good changes would be harder.
Pls add mobile and update it.
