Use old favicon for Google Search (pre September 2015)

just a different method of working. For this script favicon is hosted on external resource (http://www.iconj.com/ico/d/2/d2mdwwgcs3.ico). The second one uses Data URI scheme.
Difference
So what's the difference between this one and the other one you posted?
