Script doesn't work for me. I don't get the download option in the context menu. Webk 2.1(522), Violentmonkey as the userscript manager. Tried it on both brave v1.69.168 and Firefox 130.

Hi there! Could you check if other userscripts work for you? There's been a number of updates to browsers like switching to Manifest v3. Some browsers now need Developer Mode to be enabled for userscript managers to work. Brave browser doesn't try to circumvent and restore some of the useful features that Chrome keeps removing. That's why I switched to Supermium.

I'm still on v124 though and the script works fine for me now on https://web.telegram.org/k/

I doubt Telegram Web has any regional differences, so the problem might be on your side after all. But I'll wait for further feedback.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. The original Telegram-Media-Downloader by Nestor-Qin works for me in both Firefox and Brave. The issue is that it doesn't have the option to save round_video_messages, so I saw your post here https://github.com/Neet-Nestor/Telegram-Media-Downloader/issues/33#issue-1955030227

Unfortunately I am on Gnu/Linux, so I can't try supermium it seems to be only for Windows :(

Any other ideas?

Ah, I see. Then can you make sure that you installed the latest version 0.5 from GreasyFork? https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/477900-telegram-web-allow-saving-content/code

There was a small update in June that required me to change some class names. I removed the old code from my GitHub comment to avoid confusion.

Yes, I am on version 0.5 in both browsers. Do you think I might get lucky if I try other browsers or userscript managers?

Can you check the script on Firefox (since it isn't chromium based and isn't affected by the Manifest v3)?

Just checked it in Firefox 130 + Violentmonkey, works fine for me too.
And even correct file extensions are assigned for round videos (.mp4) and voice messages (.ogg), which is nice.
But I'm on Windows, so maybe this issue is related to Linux 🤔

I think it is, in the sense that telegram provides a different webk based on the OS. I deleted all the cookies in Brave, and before I re-logged in again I spoofed my UA to chrome on Windows as is shown in the telegram service notifications chat (Device: Telegram Web, 2.1.0 K, Chrome 126, Windows)

I got the download option in the context menu. I tried to download a round_message, but I only downloaded the last post of the chat, which was a normal video. Now I don't get the download option in the context menu, and I'm kind of scared to retry clearing the cookies because this is my good telegram account and I don't want it banned :)))

Anyway, if you want to further investigate, it'd be cool if you logged out of Firefox, clear cookies for telegram and spoof your UA to Firefox/Linux to see if your script works. Otherwise, thanks for your help. You're a nice guy.
