Purpose

Based on the idea of the popular Comment Formatting Options script, I created my own version from scratch, trying to fix issues I'd noticed and to add some new features:

  • Additional HTML options: paragraphs, bulleted lists, numbered lists, and list items
  • Works with my Sticky Comment Box script (where it doesn't offer a preview to save space)
  • Works also on comment replies, inbox comments, and when editing comments.
  • Offers a GUI configuration to deselect any of the standard buttons that you don't want to see.
  • Offers a GUI configuration to add custom buttons, for all your repetitive commenting needs.
  • Underneath the comment textbox, there's a preview area showing you how the comment will (approximately) look like when posted.

Instructions

On a page with comments, for example a work: In the main menu bar you'll find a new item "Userscripts" with the option "Comment Formatting Buttons". Selecting that will give you the dialog for choosing the buttons that appear on top of comments.

Feel free to report any issues you run into through the GreasyFork feedback option.
