Hello, I am also having a problem where I can no longer block unwanted sources on Google News. Google appears to have changed the layout.

It happens whether or not I am signed in or not.

URL tested: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=pingu&tbm=nws

I hope it can be fixed soon. I depend on it to remove clickbait sources.

If filtering in top stories is non-trivial, an option to hide entire top stories section from Google search results would also be great. Thanks.
