< Feedback on New IMDB Message Boards - Moviechat
it doesn't work to me... i am using Chrome 56.0.2924.87 + last version of tampermonkey and your script... nothing changes.. i used both akas.imdb.com (as I usually do) and www.imdb.com. Not sure what i do wrong, lol
thx for feedback. hmm, with the script try visiting 'http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3748528/' and see if there's a 'Message Board' section near the bottom of the page, the frame should contain this page 'http://www.moviechat.org/movies/tt3748528'. I assume you are logged into IMDB. I hope it works or I would need more clues for why it wouldn't work.
hello... sure, I'm logged in. I'am trying now on a laptop and it's the same situation. I went to the link that you wrote and nothing... I even disabled the adblocker. Any idea?
In the screenshot you can see that script is enabled (tampermonkey icon with 1)...
the screenshot helps... first thing I noticed is that the url I posted isn't the url shown in the screenshot, (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3748528/' vs. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3748528/combined' I assume something caused '/combined' to be added to the address. This is relevant cuz the script finds and uses the title code (e.g. tt3748528) to match it with moviechat.org's site.
Also, this is causing the page layout to be different from mine, with mine there's a 'Contribute' section at the bottom which is what the iframe attaches to. Can you try going to the url without '/combined' at the end or check if you have an IMDB-related chrome extension that may be causing it.
I understood what's wrong. The plugin works on a different IMDB view. In my preference (https://www.imdb.com/preferences/general) i have selected "Always display full cast and crew credits" and "Show reference view (old title/name page layout)". These change the view of IMDB.... i know i ask a lot but would you consider the possibility to upgrade the script so it would work on both views? thx a lot and sorry for my bad english (I'm italian)
I'm very busy, unless I get multiple requests, I'm really only concerned with the default IMDB movie that everyone sees. Also, unless it's work related, I wouldn't know why any regular user would need to see a huge 100+ list of full cast and crew names to scroll around for every listing, instead of leaving it like normal as a link to a cast/crew page... or why would someone need to use the old IMDB style layout.
Thx anyway
I'm also using the old IMDB layout as that's what I'm used to for so long.
I use "reference view" at the IMDb, so your script does not work for me either. I prefer the reference view because it's cleaner and more streamlined, does not include off-topic sections (such as "get ready for the academy awards") and it separates the sections for the actors film work and television work. The default view combines all the acting credentials into one list. I would like to use your wonderful script, but am not willing to sacrifice reference view.
Ok, since there are multiple requests, I'll add it when possible. But, just so you know, I too prefer dividing film and tv work, which is why I use the available option in the settings: 'Display credits separately for Movie and TV'
Done, update for latest version.
It works! It works in reference view! Thank you thank you, drhouse !! We love you !
Wow, yes, it works to me too now! Wonderful job, thx also from me )))
