I just posted this; it might help you with this script :)
AO3 saved filters 1.1
So I run Elementary OS on a 2012 MacBook Air with Firefox v 33.0 and even though Ff tells me that i've installed the script successfully, i see no evidence of this and AO3 does not look any different.
