A script to change the way some buttons on to look like they did back in 2012 or earlier. Made this mostly for myself, but I thought other people might get a little kick out of it.

Specifically, this script changes:

  • The subscribe button's look has changed to be gradient from a very light yellow to a normal yellow shade, with a dark yellow rounded outline. When you're subscribed to a channel, it changes to a gray variant.
  • The Like button has been made green, and the Dislike button has been made red. This also applies to the Like/Disklike buttons on a video's comments!
  • The Join button seen on channels with memberships has been changed to have a gradient from an very light, almost-white blue colour to a regular light blue, with rounded corners and a black-ish text colour.

The currently known outright issues with the script are:

  • The Subscribe and Join membership buttons sometimes appear to have a very small, about 1 pixel big white line on the bottom. This appears to be an issue with browser sizing, as it may disappear or appear based on your page zoom, for example.

Note: While the screenshots were taken using YouTube's dark theme, this userscript should work with the light theme without issue.
