Why this script was made

The browse map on geocaching.com can get crammed with geocaches really fast.
Especially if you zoom out a bit, you'll only see colorful dots making it hard to read city names, etc.
But in search mode, the map is much easier to navigate as it only loads a few caches at a time and exploring areas you are interested in is much nicer this way!
The only annoyance is pressing the "Search this area"-button over and over again. Until now!

Difference between the two map modes

What this script does

  • hides the "Search this area"-button and automatically refreshes the map so you can browse areas you are interested in carefree :)
  • adds an on/off button to the right sidebar, so that you can go back to the "manual" search mode anytime
  • disables "no geocaches found"-popup

How to use it

Simply drag the map to a place you want to explore and wait for a second to allow the caches to load.
(There is a cooldown between each refresh as to not send too many requests.)
In case you can't find geocaches in an area where there should be some, please refresh the site or wait 10 seconds before moving the map again.
