How does it work with the new update?

I am not a very tech-savvy person, and know pretty much nothing about coding or how scripts work other than how to install them. I know ONE thing about this script, and that was how to add tags to the blacklist. But the part of the code where I added tags before seems to be gone with the update. How does one do it?

Hi, I think you might have been using an older version of the script, where you would configure your tags directly at the top of the "ao3 savior" script. That would mean that if you ever updated the userscript, your code would get replaced by the code from Greasyfork, and your config would be lost. Is that what happened to you?

If so, I'm sorry but there is no getting your config back unless you had it backed up somewhere.

To solve this problem, I introduced a separate script called ao3 savior config so you can manage your config separately and update the main script without losing your config. The usage instructions are included in the description of ao3 savior, but the TLDR is that "ao3 savior" adds the blacklisting behaviour (and can be safely set to auto-update) and "ao3 savior config" holds your personal config/blacklists (and should not be set to auto-update).

If my guess about what happened isn't right, let me know and try to explain your situation in more detail please.

Yes, that's what happened. And I did have everything backed up as of Christmas, so I only lost a few tags. Thank you, this answer gave me what I needed to figure out what to do.

Nice, that's great that you had a backup.
