500 error on one tag?

Hi,
I've tried installing this several times, and every time I hit one specific problem, namely that it works fine on most tags, but the moment I try to open the James 'Bucky' Barnes/Steve Rogers tag it throws up an instant 500 error. At first I thought it was a genuine error/just a coincidence, but in fact it happens every single time I try to enable the script. Since that's one of my favourite pairings I've had to disable the script. Can you think of any reason this might be? (Apart from the script having Opinions about shipping, *g*.)
Thanks.

Yes, probably the fandom-specific filter for that tag contains something that the server doesn't like.

The script has decided for me that the main fandom for that tag is "Captain America (Movies)". Hopefully it is the same for you. We can try to disable/reset/debug your filters if you want...

  1. Visit any AO3 page other than the one that crashes.
  2. Open up the JS console in browser dev tools and run localStorage['filter-Captain America (Movies) -on'] = 'false'
  3. Visit the works tag for Bucky/Steve

Now different stuff could happen:

  • If the page still crashes, bad luck. Run localStorage in the console and give me a copypaste or screenshot of its contents.
  • If it doesn't crash, copy the contents of the fandom filter box to a backup file, then clear the box and save. Paste bits of your filter into the "Search within results" field and apply the filters until the page crashes again. I'd guess that it's some special character which is upsetting the server, so you might want to test any terms like that first.
  • If you find the term that causes the crash, you can rebuild your fandom filter without that term and keep using the script as normal. Let me know what the problem term was!
  • If you're able to load search results for the entirety of your fandom filter, but disabling the filter via console still worked, then please let me see the contents of your localStorage.
